Moikka siellä, toivottavasti kaikki hyvin! 🤗🌿

Kuten edellisessä postauksessa jo mainitsinkin, olin muutama viikko sitten kuvaamassa Utössä Metsähallituksen Coastal Bootcamp hankkeeseen.

Tässä keikassa parasta oli se, että sain itse valita mallit, joten mukaan lähtikin retkeily ystäväni täältä Turusta. Kuvasimme perjantaista - sunnuntaihin ja aloitimme kuvaukset perjantaina Lenholmenin luonnonsuojelualueelta, jossa kiersimme n. 2km pituisen luontopolun.

Erittäin omaleimaisen kaunista luontoa ja ilma oli lempeän syksyinen. Reitti on helppokulkuinen ja sen varrella on esimerkiksi lintutorni, josta aukeaa näkymä yli rannan ruovikoiden Mattholmin fladalle, matalalle ja ruovikkoiselle merenlahdelle.

Lenholmen on oiva päiväretkikohde Saariston Rengastien varrella ja suosittelen lämpimästi tätä kaunista pikku reittiä mihin vuodenaikaan tahansa. :)

Tämän jälkeen suuntasimme kohti Utötä ja matkasimme sinne M/S Baldurilla klo 18 lautalla. Lautta oli perillä noin 23.00 kieppeillä ja pääsimme onneksemme aloittamaan tähtikuvaukset heti saavuttuamme perille.

Yövyimme Havashotellissa molempina öinä, päärakennus Kasarmissa. Hotellin henkilökunta oli oikein ystävällinen ja yleisilme oli todella siisti ja mukava.

Aamiainen molempina aamuina oli monipuolinen ja hyvä. 😊🤓

Lauantaina aloitimme kuvaukset heti ensi valon aikaan, noin 9 tienoilla. Tarkoituksena oli kuvata mm. kylänraittia, ihmisiä puuhastelemassa, maisemia ja myrskyä. Aika meni yllättävän nopeasti ja päivän kuvasaldoon olin tyytyväinen hyvien mallien ja moninaisen sään vuoksi.

Otimme vielä hämärän aikaan kuvia kalastuksesta, vaikka tuuli puhalsi erittäin kovaa mereltä. Propsit malleille että jaksoivat kalastaa siinä tyrskyssä! 🤭😄

Sunnuntaina oli aivan ihana pastellin värinen auringonnousu ja tyyni rauhallinen aamu. Kuvasimme vielä raittia kierrellen ja nautimme aamusta.

Kuvauksien kannalta oli erittäin ideaali viikonloppu, koska saatiin kuvattua monipuolisesti eri sääolosuhteissa.

Vaikka viikonloppu oli työntäyteinen/raskas täysine tunteineen, olen niin kiitollinen että sain tälläisen mahdollisuuden Metsähallitukselta.

Kieltämättä aika huikea fiilis, kun saa ottaa vastuun koko viikonlopusta, suunnitella päivät/tunnit itse ja se tunne että minuun luotetaan.

Koen tällaiset kokemukset itselleni enemmän kuin hyödyllisinä että vahvistavina. 😌🌿

Loppuun kokosin listan, mistä saattaa olla hyötyä, mikäli suunnittelet matkaa matkaa Utöseen. :)

Ms Baldur

Utön saarelle pääsee ympärivuotisesti yhteysalus ms Baldurilla ja alus lähtee Utöhön Nauvon Pärnaisten satamasta
Yhdensuuntainen matka kestää sääolosuhteista ja välipysähdyksistä (Berghamn, Nötö, Aspö, Jurmo) riippuen n. 4-5 tuntia
Aluksella on ravintola, jossa mekin söimme matkan aikana
Tämä yhteisalus on täysin maksuton
Matkalle ei voi varata etukäteen paikkoja
Lemmikkieläinten kanssa matkustaville on aluksella varattu oma osasto. :)
Oma auto jätetään matkan ajaksi sataman maksuttomalle pysäköintialueelle ja henkilöautolla ajaminen on Utössä kielletty, vain huoltoajot sallitaan

Utö

Ravintola, kauppa ja posti ovat avoinna vain määrättyinä aikoina
Sääolosuhteet voivat olla vaihtelevia ja joskus hyvinkin haastavia
Matkavarusteissa kannattaa olla mukana vettä ja tuulta pitävä takki, mukavat kävelykengät
Utön maasto on vaihtelevaa: soratiestä vaikeakulkuisiin kallioihin
Ulkoilu, lintubongaus, lukeminen, lepääminen ja ruokailu ovat Utön suosituimpia aktiviteetteja
Tietoliikenneyhteydet ovat hyvät
Utössä ei ole telttailualuetta
Grillipaikkoja ei ole ja nuotioiden tekeminen on ehdottomasti kielletty
Ennen uintiretkeä on otettava selvää turvallisesta uintipaikasta
Paikallisten asukkaiden pihoille ja laitureille ei ole sopivaa mennä

Hi there, I hope you’re doing well! 🤗🌿

As I mentioned in the previous post, a few weeks ago I was photographing in Utö for the Coastal Bootcamp project for Metsähallitus.

The best thing about this shoot was that I could choose the models myself, so I took a hiking friends with me here from Turku. We shot from Friday to Sunday and we started the shoot on Friday in the Lenholm nature reserve, where we walked a 2-kilometre nature trail.

The nature was uniquely beautiful and there was a gentle touch of autumn. The trail is an easy one and it has a birdwatching tower which gives a view over the reeds to Mattholm’s flad, a shallow and reedy bay.

Lenholm is a great day trip to do along the Saariston Rengastie road and I warmly recommend this beautiful little trail at any time of year.

After this, we headed towards Utö and travelled there with M/S Baldur on the 6 PM ferry. The ferry was at Utö around 11 PM and we luckily got to start photographing stars right away.

We stayed both nights at the Utö Havshotel in the main building Kasarmi. The hotel staff was very friendly and the hotel was clean and comfortable.

The breakfast on both mornings was diverse and tasty. 😊🤓

On Saturday we began photographing at first light, around 9 AM. The goal was to photograph the streets, people going around their days, the views and storms. The time flew by surprisingly quickly. I was happy with the pictures, because I had good models and the weather varied a lot.

At dusk we took pictures of fishing, even though there were strong gusts of wind from the sea. Respect to the models for still fishing in that weather! 🤭😄

On Sunday the sunrise was a beautiful pastel colour and the morning was lovely and calm. We took pictures while wandering around the streets and enjoyed the morning.

The weekend gave us optimal photographing conditions, because we were able to take pictures in many different types of weathers.

Though the weekend was full of work and the days were long, I am grateful that I was given this opportunity by Metsähallitus. It’s really quite an amazing feeling to be given responsibility for the whole weekend, to be able to plan your days and hours yourself and feel that you are trusted.

These types of experiences are beneficial for me and an opportunity to grow. 😌🌿

Ms Baldur

Utö island can be reached year-round with the ferry M/S Baldur
The ferry to Utö departs from Pärnäinen harbor in Nauvo
A one-way trip takes about 4-5 hours, depending on the weather and the amount of stops on the way (Berghamn, Nötö, Aspö, Jurmo)
The ferry has a restaurant
M/S Baldur is the main ferry for the route to Utö
M/S Baldur’s and M/S Kökar’s time tables can be found on the address www.meritie.fi
You cannot reserve a spot on the ferry in advance
The ferry ride is free
There is a separate section on the ferry for those who travel with pets
There is a direct bus line from Turku to Pärnäinen harbor in Nauvo
If you come by car, it can be left in the harbor in the free parking area
No personal cars are allowed on Utö, only service vehicles

Utö Island

Utö island is in the outer archipelago, which means you will be far away from everything

On Utö you can speak whatever language you want. You will be best understood in Finnish, Swedish and English
In the outer archipelago you will not necessarily find all the same services and products you might be used to or consider a given in a city
Restaurants, stores and the post are only open during certain times
The weather varies quite a lot and can sometimes be rather challenging
When packing, be sure to bring water and a windproof jacket, comfortable walking shoes and sun cream: Utö has the most sunny days in all of Finland
The terrain on Utö varies: from gravel roads to more difficult terrain, like cliffs
Adventuring outside, bird spotting, reading, resting and food are among the most popular activities on Utö
Telecommunication links are good
There is no camping area on Utö
There are no places for grilling, and it is absolutely forbidden to make a campfire
Before going swimming, please first find a safe spot to swim
Do not enter the yards or use the piers of the local islanders
Neither Utö’s nature nor inhabitants abide by littering
